I can't understand my latest E-on bill, it was for £2583, and that is including all the caps! The top of my bill gives an estimated annual use at £1596.29, yet this bill alone is for £3600! The rate I should be on is 46p/kWh but suddenly rose to 76p/kWh and backdated that to December '22. I keep emailing them but can't get an explanation to this bill.

Are you on a commercial tariff by any chance? The current unit rates for domestic energy are limited under the EPG to in the region of 11p/kWh on the gas, and 34p/kWh for electricity.
Remember that the domestic cap/EPG doesn't mean that is all you will pay too - it simply limits the unit rates and standing charges you will pay. If you use £5000 worth of energy at those current rates, that is what you will be paying for!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
