British Gas keeps lieing to me about refund

I need help two weeks ago I asked for a refund from British Gas as I had built up credit on my electricity bill ai had for some of it back as I was struggling with other biills. They said with ok. However at the  end of that week no money so them rung up they said it’s due direct debt issuses however would they said they would give a call on Monday at 11. I waited till about 1 on Monday no call back. So rung  them and some said they would process it and it be be there it few days  I check my British Gas app no money been taken from the account.and there no in my Bank account from them I have Autisum and Diabetes so very anxious about the fact I had to borrow money to pay bills (one which was British Gas) and I am now owing £200 and having ask for another £100 for my weekly shop to eat as if my blood sugar goes too low a could die. My advice I am a student as but due my benefits I can’t take out an emerngcy loan from the univesity
