Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very chilly and frosty start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, chips and beans for the menfolk, peppers stuffed with rice and baked - delicious it was too. Tonight not sure what we'll be eating but I will sort it later.
Work was steady yesterday, today will be the same I think,
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
TA, I'm very sorry to hear about your friend's prognosis, how sad.
I got caught in a blizzard yesterday and came home soaked. It had been dry when I left the house. I wish this winter was over, it seems to be dragging on a bit.
I've got a really exciting day planned, going to clean the insides of the windows, I really know how to live!!
Nanny, hope you're ok.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our poorly ones, and those who are sad.
Take care folks, keep warm.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr this weather is going backwards. Minus 3 this morning and the snow that fell yesterday is now lying frozen and looking deadly.
I did plan on a little trip into town this morning as there are odd bits I need from Boots but now having a re-think. I am not desperate enough for them to risk life and limb on the ice on route to the bus stop!. I'll see if a thaw happens as the morning goes on!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x
That sounds awful @ScarletRibbons
It's a frosty start here. I'm WFH but need to record strike absences today amongst other things. Will be keeping an eye on the budget to see what's what although some of the headlines are already coming through. My sore throat is still with me and I noticed yesterday that the cherry blossom is appearing, so I've taken an antihistamine as it might be the start of my hay fever??
Dinner tonight is SW sticky pork stir fry so I'll need to get some exotic mushrooms for that at lunchtime.
Washing to do today which will dry indoors. I used a dye in the machine yesterday and have done two 'clean' cycles since but still feel slightly nervous! It was navy blue dye so I'll do a darks wash just in case!
Have a good day all

Morning folks.Another chilly start today though milder weather is promised from tomorrow. Yesterday's snow lasted for approx 30 seconds 😀 it fell, landed and melted. My lunch was leftover lasagna which I retrieved from the freezer, it was awful, so disappointing until I remembered that the first portion was horrible too. No idea why I kept the second bit, probably deep in MSE mode. It was shop bought and all pasta, very little filling and no taste. Into the bin it went with no qualms.Today I'll have a little foray into town. I want to check out a wee gym in the local community centre as I really need to get into a stationary bike for exercise. Walking is my preferred exercise but it's too difficult still so I can't just sit. No shopping to do as I took some of my delicious homemade lentil soup out of the freezer yesterday. It'll do me two days and then I'm having lunch with friends on Friday.Scarlet- enjoy those windows. 😀
Coxy - all that recording will keep you busy. Sticky pork sounds delicious.TA - keep safe.Happy Wednesday to all.12 -

Happy Wednesday11 -
Morning all
Cold and frosty start here this morning but nice and sunny which is good. One chap coming today and I will try and get him out for a walk this morning, there is a local lake we can walk round with a cafe at the end for a cup of tea, he doesn’t really like going out much tbh I think he is a bit lazy and would like to stay in and watch films all day but he is slightly portly and could do with a bit of exercise.
Got some mince out for dinner so will either do a spag Bol or a chilli will see what we fancy later.
Ive put a wash on this morning and it can go on the line for a while, will run the hoover round this morning.
TA thinking of you xxx
Have good days all and stay warm xxx12 -
Hi everyone,
TA, I was sorry to hear about your friend.
Coxy, I remember the time when the budget details were a deep dark secret, nowadays they seem to be leaked days in advance.
Camelot, 5 years ago we went for a family break on my 60th birthday (St Patrick's day) and the whole country was covered in snow which lay for days but I must agree that I am longing for some proper warm weather now. We are hoping to go to Northern Spain to avoid the coronation so hopefully will get some sunny weather then.
I didn't post yesterday, I was up and out early, dropping Steve at the golf club and going to Lidl, M & S and Sainsbury's and then over to Crystal to take her and Nate to a baby class. He has developed an aversion to his car seat so she is finding it difficult to take him anywhere as he screams and sobs, she sat in the back with him and kept him mostly calm during the journeys.
Esther had vaccinations and a check on Monday. She is over the 90th centile for height which is no surprise with all the tall members of the family, Laura was the same. Funnily enough she was always the tallest at school (girl or boy) until she stopped growing at 14 (5'11) while Chris was tall but not excessively so until he grew from 6'2 to 6'6 between the ages of 16 and 18. It looks like Esther will follow Laura's pattern.
Have a good day.12 -

Morning all, the weather continued to be horrendous yesterday, alternating spells of sleet or hail. Some of the hailstones were so big they looked like ping pong balls bouncing back up from the ground. During one dry spell I nipped out for a quick walk - mistake
. I think my coat has dried off now. I've lit the log burner this morning, the frozen hail is stuck to the ground in parts. Pooch enjoyed rolling in the frozen grass over the road- mad thing.
Cottage pie for tea tonight. Some good news- DH bought a van yesterday, yay. He'll be sorting the paperwork out & taxing it today then he can pick it up. He's had to put a good chunk of money to the insurance payout so much muttering has ensued, but vans seem to be in short supply and being sold as soon as they're put up for sale.No pick up for DGS for 2 days, his class is affected by the strike, and tomorrow is going on a 1 night residential trip from school which he's looking forward to.The birds are clearing the food on the bird table in record time at the moment.Stay warm and safe folks x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
