Realised I have been paying for Apple TV+ for 36 months without realising. I wasn’t aware of this so know for a fact that I haven’t logged in once or watched a single piece of content. Apple help have refunded 2 payments and closed the complaint down. My bank have said they can only make a chargeback claim for up to four months. Is there anything I can do to escalate?

Can you give us any more information?
Did you sign up for a 7 day free trial, or have you bought Apple hardware which includes a free complimentary trial?
Have you had a problem such that you were unable to access the service?
What do you think Apple TV+ has done wrong?1 -
Yes I signed up for a free trial and forgot to cancel. Technically AppleTV+ have done nothing ‘wrong’ but upon learning that I was paying without knowledge and not using the service a single time in 3 years I would expect them to ‘do the right thing’ and refund me… which they have not.Alderbank said:Can you give us any more information?

I don’t think you can say it was without your knowledge if it appeared on your bank statements. I’m not sure why Apple TV should refund you for your negligence for not reading those statements. It’s not their fault you didn’t login, the ability to do so was there for you to use it. You need to take this as a lesson and check your statements and maybe next time you sign up for a free trial set yourself a reminder to cancel.Ashleysaves said:

Not disputing any of this. At the same time feels very unfair for a big corporate to take my money due to … as you put it… my own negligence. It was an honest mistake / I would hope they’d see that the product was not used once and agree a refund was dueGrubbyGirl_2 said:

You're relying on goodwill. They've done nothing wrong and there's no obligation for them to do the "right thing" beyond the generous refind you've already had. Look at it another way: You were quite happy to sign up for a free trial and cancel, costing their business for no income, but you want them to "do the right thing".Try some charm and see if you can get anything more than the goodwill gesture you've already had, but it does sound like you've exhausted their goodwill.2

I have a subscription with Apple granted it's only 79p monthly but
They do email me every month before it goes out and it shows on my credit card
Could you have missed them for 3 years ?
Is there anything else you might have missed ?
It might be a good time to check

Your subscription is not for using it is for having the facility available to use when you want to.0

Bank can only claim the money back if you are billed after cancelling. They will require proof.Ashleysaves said:Realised I have been paying for Apple TV+ for 36 months without realising. So I would not go down that route as Apple will just contest & you will be redebited.
You are at the mercy of Apple, who have offered the 2 months. Nothing else you can do. Sadly it is a case of as ML say's keep a track on these things. Check bank statements for these payments.Life in the slow lane0 -
Well that is two more than they were obliged to!Ashleysaves said:Realised I have been paying for Apple TV+ for 36 months without realising. Sorry but this is entirely your fault. Any gesture of goodwill is up to Apple. They have made one, not as much as you would have liked but more than many companies would have done.
Learn from your mistake and take more care to check your accounts in the future!2
