Co-op Everyday Extra - positive experience; great travel insurance quote

I thought forum readers might appreciate some feedback about Co-op: I couldn't find much when researching. There's a full guide to the account here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/best-packaged-bank-accounts/
Three keys points:
1) my wife and I have pre-existing medical conditions. Travel insurance as a couple for a Europe only annual policy usually costs about £300-400. For a world wide policy, comparison sites currently quote around £1,000. The 'additional' premium which Co-op charged for an annual world wide policy was below £300. The account is £15 per month, or £180 a year on top of that premium. That includes car breakdown which is worth about £100 for us. I think that travel insurance policy is great value at an effective net £380. Of course this is on a case by case basis.
2) the medical screening is completed online, very easily and quickly, and BEFORE you commit to buying the bank account product. This isn't very clear from Co-op info but it is how it worked for us. You get diverted to Aviva who quote and then explain how to pay.
3) Account was fully open in about three weeks.

Thanks for thanks for posting. It’s unusual for someone to bother posting about a positive experience with a bank account.FWIW, we are in a similar situation and have found Nationwide Flex (now FlexPlus) good value for worldwide annual travel insurance for (now) over 70s with pre-existing health conditions. We also know it works, having had to claim for hospitalisation in Thailand in 2018🙁1
