If the two vendors are not responding, then the only way forward is a LETTER BEFORE ACTION to their business address (should be on their eBay page).

Don't waffle about your MH issues. Just stick to the point:

On <date> I ordered  and paid for <brand name> bed for £XXX. I was unable to collect this due to severe illness. I am now able to collect the item, but upon contacting you, you informed me that the item has been re-sold. In which case, can you please issue me with a full refund of £XXX within 14 days.
If I do not receive a refund, I will start a small claims case against you to obtain my refund.

But that is not what the OP said.

    They said.....

I have messaged both vendors - and tried to explain that at the time of purchase, I was severely unwell. Both items have now been sold, and therefore I can't actually collect either of them. I have received no reply whatsoever from either of them.

If they received "no reply whatsoever" how do they know the items have been sold?

If they sold them through eBay again it would appear in the sellers sold history
If these were brand new mattresses from businesses then they probably had multiples so no way of tracking which one belonged to the OP.
OK I didn't pick that up.  I assumed a business seller would ship and not be collection only

In fairness one was a private seller but I suspect none of it matters as OP hasn’t been back.

Why not just turn up now to the secure collection addresses.  Maybe your goods are still waiting to be uplifted.

After 9 months I doubt his mattresses are going to be sitting waiting for him.
