Help housing H/A priority

My friend lives with her now ex and was allowed to stay in his house until she found somewhere, shes on the H/A waiting list and bids every week, but now hes asked to evict her as he has decided to sell the house. So shes been looking to find somewhere and having to look at private rental. Shes going to give a letter to H/A that she is being evicted, but in the meantime, shes wondering that she should get a private rental home, its too exoensive but she wont have a home at all if he ebicts hdr in a couple of months. She will likely be put higher on the housing list if shes got an eviction letter,? But if she cannot wait  should she move sooner to a private rent, and will she still be elegible to bid afterwards. Any help please.

If she’s a single person with no dependents and nothing that would give her extra eligibility such as a health condition, then depending on area she could have a very long wait for housing association property.
Being evicted is not going to bump her up the list so if she needs somewhere to live then private rental may be her only option. She needs to check her local council housing allocations policy, but if she’s adequately housed then that may keep her towards the bottom of the bidding list either way.

    Hi OP

Get your friend to chat to HA people about the what ifs
Also, consider LA w/l which is often longer
Certain parts of the uk have shorter w/l's
The more info your mate has the better position, the more infor position she will be in.

    This may help
