Car insurance accident management company

We had a no fault accident a few weeks ago. Our claim was passed to an accident management company and we have a hire car. I keep chasing but apparently we have to await the at fault drivers company to make contact with an offer.
We saw a car that meets our needs at the weekend and have bought it from our savings. We got a couple of days insurance from the garage. I’ve contacted the accident management company but they say if we return the hire car they won’t pursue our claim. Of course I will be talking to my insurer about insuring the new car but I can’t get through just now
The accident management company have offered to remove our old car and use their engineers to value it, should I agree?

If you are intending to do the right thing, which is returning the very expensive credit hire vehicle as soon as your replacement vehicle arrives then you may end up in a tricky place if they have incurred recovery and engineer costs but then wont pursue the claim.
They make the big bucks from the hire car not dealing with the damages to your own vehicle so hence why they focus on that aspect alone.
You could always deal directly with the third party insurer advising you've already bought the replacement vehicle so dont need hire any more but ask them to deal with the total loss of the vehicle (which is all the AXM company will be doing other than charging £250 for the recover and inspection)1 -
Yes I was planning to minimise losses. How do I find the details of the other insurance? I know the company but not the details of his claim number etc. Do you think my insurer might take the claim back from the accident management company?Downshifted

Your insurers will bring it in, assuming you have Comp cover, but they may be reluctant to do so and will probably try to dissuade you by saying you'll have to pay your excess, itll be a fault claim until its settled etc etc. Admiral Group, one of the direct insurers that are very keen on their AMCs, are particularly resistant however you are perfectly entitled to claim on your policy (as they are for deducted the excess)1
