Lender sent my mortgage offer to the wrong solicitor!

Hi,
I was meant to exchange in 2 days oj a 3 bedroom flat. However, today I've found out that my solicitor doesn't have the mortgage offer as Barclays sent the offer to the wrong solicitors! How long could this take to fix do you think?
My solicitor is chasing up the law firm that was sent our offer in November. I'm hoping it gets dealt with ASAP.

It shouldn't take any time at all to fix. Not much point in your solicitor chasing the other firm though - unless the problem is actually that your solicitor isn't on Barclays' panel, and Barclays do want the other firm to act independently for them?0

This does happen if the lender doesn't receive communication that the solicitor is different or has changed to the one they thought you were using.
It shouldn't take too long, but your solicitor will need the offer to be addressed to them by the lender. They can't use an offer addressed to a different firm, so your solicitor should be chasing the lender, not the other law firm.
Surely your solicitor knew they didn't have an offer before now? Haven't they asked you where it is, or chased the lender?
For information though, your solicitor won't be exchanging until the correct offer is received.0 -
The strange thing is this is the same solicitor that we used for a previous property that fell through in October and they received the previous mortgage offer from Barlcays. We don't know what's happened this time round eith this property and why Barclays sent the offer to another solicitor. It's very very strange.0

Who submitted the 'new' application?I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The application was made by my mortgage broker. My solicitor has just got back to me and said, as they were not on Barclays panel of solicitors they told Barclays the address of the conveyancer was another firm. However, now they are on the panel. But Barclays have not posted the mortgage offer on the portal for the other firm to see regardless. So the other firm are now chasing up Barclays and Barclays said they are looking into it.
I hope that makes sense.0
