Section 75 cover for flights?

It's not an either/or situation - paying by card does offer additional protection over and above what typical travel insurance will cover (airline failure is often sold as an add-on), and most insurers will only pay out costs that couldn't be recovered via other means anyway.

In any case, OP already made it clear that they have travel insurance so weren't seeking to rely on s75 instead....
