  • Also to avoid disappointment, items can have extremely different sale values from replacement or insurance values.

As my relative discovered. Told by the jeweller to get a realistic price, halve the insurance value and add 10% to get a rough idea of what it might sell for.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Some of the stuff is quite wearable. It’s just I am not a jewellery person.  Some if it is hideous but has probate value of £20k upwards.  Personally, despite the high probate value I think it some would be sold for scrap and someone would remodel. There is one particularly hideous ruby and diamond. spray brooch.  Value £35k. I think you could cut it up and make some small quite beautifully pendants if you knew what you were doing.
there is another gold diamond ring. Still wearable now I think.  Value £20k.

Did those values come from a jeweller or valuer you could give a call and ask how to sell?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,
Had the whole of their cash in his care.

  • I took a load of jewelry to a very reputable local jewelry shop.  He gave me double what I was expecting so my advice is go to 2 or 3 local reputable jewelers first and see what they will offer you
