New contracts and cut-off dates for CPI+ increases

Options
Hi, I'm pretty much out of contract on both broadband and my mobile. I would potentially enter a new broadband contract (to reduce my current bill) and looking at a new phone with a mobile operator. When would be the best date to enter into new contracts to avoid the price rises coming in on 31st March?

I don't know whether companies have reduced their contract prices advertised now, knowing that they will increase at the end of the month or has the cut-off date already passed? There has been talk on other posts about 1st March being a cut-off date, but I struggle to find any actual T&Cs on the relevant websites.

I contacted EE about such dates and they refused to answer, just simply "the price rises affect all contracts".

I renewed 17 March last year with BT, £21.00 per month Fibre 1, did not get a price increase from 31st March.

I was also just out of contract with my EE mobiles and my tactic with EE (which worked) was to request a PAC code but not really intending to move unless I needed to!  Within a couple of hours, I received a call from EE and agreed a new contract, substantially cheaper than I'm currently paying.  It should be noted that I've been with EE for many years.

As an aside, they can also offer Broadband from both EE and BT (the BT one was £30 vs a public price of £45), which I'm still thinking about.  I don't really want to move from Sky but will if they don't improve their price.
  • An EE customer services operator stated that it was for contracts before 1st March. So I should be safe for this year now.

7th March I rang ee and as out of contact got a small reduction on monthly payment
  • Too late, I read somewhere else that it was after your March payment date (which is later this week).

EE have put their prices up this week (by about £20 a month), so I'll be forgetting about any new contract now!
