Problem with automatic Berlingo stalling?
Hi,
I would be grateful for any thoughts advice about a problem I have been having with my 9 year old diesel automatic Citroen Berlingo. It does low mileage - currently on about 27,000 miles. It does not get used very often and although we do try to make sure it gets used most weeks it can sit unused on the drive for a week or two at a time.
I'm an older lady, with no knowledge about the mechanics of cars, although I have been driving for several decades.
I never drive it in "manual mode", always setting it to automatic.
On two, or maybe three, occasions it has suddenly juddered to a halt and stalled. The feeling was as though it had incorrectly changed into too high a gear. I was then able to restart the engine but it kept doing the same thing. Since the last occurrence it has seemed to "be OK" and I have made very short journeys without any problems. But I am now afraid to drive any further in case the problem recurs and I get stranded.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to what the problem might be and what I can do. Many thanks in advance.

sounds like a fault with the gears changing too quickly. or too slowly. those gearboxes are electronically controlled. so it needs to go to a citreon/peugeot dealer so they can plug in there computer. its called diagnostics.1
