That is done on their side, not on the meter or IHD.

I'm with Octopus and I can alter the frequency in my online account.

If you let us know what energy company you're with, hopefully someone will know how/where you can check for your account.

What frequency of meter readings did you set to allow your energy company when the smart meters were installed (or your energy account was opened) I had the option of 30 minute, daily or monthly.

Is it possible yours are only set to monthly?
Didn't know that was a thing?  I've set nothing so its set to whatever it was when they installed it.  Would that be done on the meter or the display?  I know the display only updates gas every 30 minutes whereas electricity is real time.
Your smart meter communications hub connects to the DCC network via a Wide Area Network (WAN). The comms hub acts a bit like a mobile phone: it sits quietly in its box waiting for a call.

Depending on the profile you agreed to, the supplier will initiate a call to the comms hub for data. For those on a 30 minute profile, data is called for in the early hours of each morning to recover the previous day’s data. The meters return up to 4 register readings and an XML file containing 30 minute usage data.

You can ask your supplier to change your meter profile to 30minute usage.
