Chargeback

What do you do with the balance of a credit card while waiting for the decision on a chargeback?
I am disputing a large purchase based on poor quality (a bike which is rusting in only a week). This purchase makes up the bulk of the balance on my card, and the interest-free offer ends this month.
Do I pay the balance to avoid being charged interest? If I do that, and the chargeback goes ahead, what happens when I end up in a large amount of credit because of the refunded money? I don't want to get charged interest but also don't want to be in credit either.
Thanks.

Pay it off
If you end up with a credit, you can spend it or have it returned to you.0 -
Have you tried returning the bike? Or contacting the seller? Not sure how successful a chargeback will be if you haven't.0

Thought I replied to this earlier...
If you pay it off & refund is not contested. You can just ask for the refund that has left you in credit to be paid back to your bank account. This will be free of charge.
But, as above. What has dealer said about the issue? If you have not tried to resolve, they may not do a chargeback & if they do, retailer can reject on a technicality that you have not tried to resolve with them 1st.Life in the slow lane0
