Heathrow T4 pickup advice please

Hi all.  I'm picking my daughter up from Heathrow T4 next Saturday and wondered if anyone had any top tips for me?  I'm resigned to the idea that I'm going to have to pay and I know it's not cheap but with the price going up every additional 15 minutes, it could get very costly if the flight is delayed or she gets held up when collecting her baggage.  Is there anywhere close to the airport (maybe within 5 minutes) where I could pull up and wait for a message from her to go and pick her up or anything like that?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for reading.

I have no idea about Heathrow but with some airports it is possible for the passenger to get the bus to one of the long term car parks from where they can be picked up without having to pay (they allow 10-15 minutes for drop off/pick up).  If Heathrow allows this then that could give you more scope about where you can park up and wait.

It is I suppose possible to time things to avoid paying for pick up but you would probably need a lot of luck on your side.

Other options might be waiting at the nearby Tesco Superstore on Faggs Road, or the ASDA in Feltham. Have your daughter call you when she boards a long stay car park bus then set off to meet her there.  Alternatively perhaps she should take the Underground up to Hatton Cross.  These other options much depend on how much luggage she has and are a bit of a faff. Depends how much you want to save the short stay car parking cost I guess.
