pochase is correct, the back-billing rules will not be much help, as when they do eventually raise a bill covering the period from when you first moved in to date, they are allowed to use any DD payments you have already made to cover that use, so the only way you would benefit is if the use during the period over 12 months ago was higher than the DD payments you made during that same period.m344 said:... I have been chasing a bill for over a year. But what I don't want is for them to count the DD under billing then decided I owe them for for those "bills" which stem back up to 17months. Are you saying this could happen? I don't want a refund for what I've already paid.

Ok, thanks everyone. I do have a reference number so I'll go straight to the ombudsman0

A couple of questions.
Does the credit include the £400 Government payment? (Could even be more if you are entitled to WHD and/or AFP)
Are you sure that BG are not a paperless biller?0 -
since you are 900 in credit you could apply for a refund eg £500. Pit it in a savings account until it is needed to.pay any bill.they produce in the future0

The property is 17 months old but doesn’t have a smart meter? That seems slightly odd - are you sure the meter isn’t smart but just not communicating?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Just to update everyone my move in reading was 1043 and move out reading was 3935. I've gone to the Ombudsman and BG have until 6th June to submit any evidence and respond.
I've now moved house and gave them a few more months since I last posted to issue a bill (they did not).0 -
Yes but these are suppliers for two different things. BG supplied electricity only, Switch2 provided heating and hot water.cm4ever said:
Unfortunately from reading your other thread, sounds a little bit like you might have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire re:district heatingm344 said:I've now moved house and gave them a few more months since I last posted to issue a bill (they did not).
Now Octopus supply the electricity and Eon provide the heating and hot water.0
