Help with the mess that is UC

So for reasons too long and complicated to go into, my old style ESA claim is not being allowed to be carried over onto my UC claim so I am basically starting afresh. I work for 14hrs a week which was agreed under the old style ESA as permitted work. UC are now asking for a fit note to start the process of a WCA but how can I be getting a fit note from the GP saying I'm not fit for work when I'm working 14hrs a week? UC are totally useless and unhelpful and I can't get a definitive answer to this.
Also, should I make a claim for new style ESA or again the fact I'm working 14hrs a week mean I can't claim this? I'm completely confused by this new system and as it stands at the moment, my income is currently £800 a month less than it was under the old style ESA and permitted work and I am scared for my future.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What group were you put into for ESA?
What type of ESA was it?
Was there a gap between your ESA claim and your UC claim? EDIT: yes there was a gap according to OP's other thread, so the other questions are moot.
You can have a WCA whilst working if you either claim PIP, or earn no more than 16xNMW per week if you don't claim PIP. Getting a fit note from your GP could be tricky but is possible, if indeed your ESA group can't be carried over then hopefully some others here will be able to advise what you need to ask for. A fit note can say that you can work with restrictions (such as limited hours) or accommodations, it's just as proof of your illness/disability that UC are asking for it.1 -

Indeed, you can ask for a Fit Note from your GP stating that you are fit for work with reduced hours of no more than 16h/week. The fit note can also mention any other reasonable adjustments that you may need because of your health condition.
