    Just did the same and I was told no slots, really pushed it though as I do spend a lot but stayed ultra polite!! Customer service put me through to someone else. Got a slot for Sunday.
    Too many children, too little time!!!

    what do the latest books look like? Are there 3 this year? I have a white one, silver one (home items) and am sure there is another one.Am i right?

    I got a next account esp for the sale usually I just shop instore , Im tempted to ring up and ask for a slot even thoough I havent used my account yet.

    Im a bit of a wuss, what should I say and to those who did successfly blag a slot what do you do?

    It really has got nothing to do with how much you spend. I have had an invite the past 3 sales and i spent less than £30 each year.
    Nothing this sale though which is prob cause i've sent to much stuff back after ordering it ;)
    I think they give the VIP slots more to people who don't spend much to encourage them to spend more.

    I called up again and asked for a VIP slot. The first lady I spoke to said there wern't any left! I asked to speak to her manager. Her manager said there are some left and I got one for early Sunday morning :)
