New smart meter -IHD not connecting

I had smart meters fitted in September. The electricity showed on the IHD fairly soon after installation, but the gas didn't.
Octopus did some form of remote synchronisation which fixed it.1 -

Or possibly even to register gas onto electric and then to dcc etc.
My smets1 was couple of years ago, my sister had new smets2 in Dec - just for electric - it again displayed the usage - from day 1.
Good luck.
Also EDF's website shows some usage data from the day after installation.
I don't have a smart gas meter as there was an issue with the pipework which the installer was not happy with, so that potential extra delay is not relevant.
I'm getting to the point where I might just ditch the IHD and carry on using my own monthly readings and spreadsheet. It's getting beyond a joke now.1 -
Many people do not use anyway.
If you were disciplined before - it's just arguably another small power drain like tv on standby etc.
But I like the reminder of my e10 rate switches.
To use things like washing machine at 8pm rather than 6 etc.
But I normally remember now anyway.
And most people aren't on multi rate - even fewer during normal awake hours- so that's not a particularly compelling argument.0 -
I'm seriously thinking of ditching the IHD. I've always kept monthly data on a spreadsheet for years and might as well carry on doing just that.
I suspect any 'benefit' from the IHD would be in it's novelty value than any genuine advantage.0 -
My IHD has saved my bacon a few times when I've left the oven hob on low by mistake.1

Well, it's now sorted!
As it was fourteen days since my smart meter installation, and two customer service bods had told me it would connect within fourteen days, I messaged EDF again this morning.
Had a reply this afternoon telling me the IHD hadn't been paired with the meter, and could I send them a photo of the GUID (the IHD unique number).
Within half an hour, the IHD was up and running.
So if the folk I spoke to and messaged over the last fortnight had actually checked rather than fob me off, it would have been sorted immediately.
Still better late than never...3 -
