hi
I have bought these from wickes for my kitchen.
Does anyone have them - where they ok to fit.
If anyone has bi-folding wooden doors in the kent/se london area can they recommend a fitter as my husband has just read the instructions and doesn't fancy it.
Thanks

Have pm'd you with my carpenters details. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
This a most excellent guide to fitting a kitchen (probably the best guide i have ever come across wether it covers bifold as flat packs im unsure and can't be assed reading) http://www.kitchensfitted.co.uk/ExternalMedia/article1.php
Ps if he thinks bifolds are hard wait for the mitres on cornice and pelmet (the biggest fcuk ups i always see or door and drawer adjustment)
lol, I shouldn't really laugh. Im a kitchen designer and i don't know if this is the case in your problem.
Why oh Why do peeps think they can fit kitchens (that goes for you plumbers and builders aswell unless you are used to fitting them)
This is why they have a job of a kitchen fitter, it is actually a title and an experienced job (a builder is not a kitchen fitter) they are also hard to come by and my best fitter is only 24 and fits 60k bespokes for me ( I actually prefer him when hes angry ie arguement with the missus cos he nearly fits them in a day then. Strange but true)
The amount of times i have builders, plumbers and customers (self fit) phone me up to ask advice or for a cabinet for a washing machine (!!!!!!) <== that was a experienced 20yr kitchen fitter (more like a dodgy builder to me). It just wastes half my day.
I don't mind but it can be frustrating when they say what you designed doesn't work, shout all the odds at you. You go to see the job and theres an incompetent knobend whos used an mfc shelf as a filler on a solid oak kitchen
Ok so the kitchen fitter wanted to charge say £1600 notes for a dry fit (for those of you who don't know dry fit you could be in trouble, search it)
Does that figure seem steep, to u it may but to me on a reasonable room thats not bad (by the way i don't sell flat pack kitchens these are all rigid so be prepared for the fitter to charge more on a flat job)
I know this is a saving tips idea forum but hell theres some things that u have to pay for and a good kitchen that will last 5-10yrs (homebases wickes etc) we put a lifetime on ours within reason (50yrs) but only if fitted correctly!!!!
I'm sure this doesn't help you much but its just my rant
To any experinced kitchen fitters (builders etc) i'm sorry if i offended some of you are extremly good
PS a good kitchen fitter may take 1-3 months to get round to your job, find this unacceptable, its not its because he's good he's in demand. A very good signm and always ask for refrences and get atleast 3 quotes0 -
