Very dark damp chilly start to the day. 

DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and  enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here.  DS2 settled and happy.

Dinner last night was another use up and menfolk had some jobs to do, so there was scrambled egg, cheese on toast,, chicken, savory rice, I had peppers that needed using up baked and filled with rice - very nice it was too.  Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be eating but will sort whilst are shopping this morning.

I have chores to do today so will potter along getting stuff done.

Morning All

Thanks for the start nmlc.

We had a very light dusting of snow last night but thankfully that was it. Very cold out this morning but bright and dry.

Hope you enjoyed your Anniversary yesterday Scarlet.

Not much to report from here, thank goodness it's Friday and I get an earlier finish at work (sometimes).

Morning folks. 

Yesterday I had a very difficult drive up the M42, once I reached further up, probably around Sheffield, the snow became rain so the rest of my journey to Darlington was fine. I had a lovely evening with my closest friends, we raised a toast to my late DM as it would have been her 95th birthday then played a couple of board games. 

There's been a significant amount of snow fallen overnight though it looks all calm this morning. I'll make a decision about travelling home later in the morning. 

Sorry to have missed stuff here. I'll have to read back on the week. I hope that everyone is warm and well. Happy Friday to all.

Morning all wetland miserable as usual but am up with the lark as i have a delivery of radiators today we are having the ones in the lounge moved round and new ones put in tomorrow and yes i know it would be one of the coldest days so i will be upstairs fully dressed under the duvet all day other than that just need to clear the room for the guys to do their thing tomorrow .
Went shopping yesterday to Lidl but won't go again as it was very empty and we couldn't get quite a few things back to Aldi next week .
Gers safe travels home like me you've picked the best week for things but i am glad you managed to celebrate with family yesterday
Taff i will have a look at Lands End for bathers 
Dinner tonight fish fingers chips and beans
Right better get a cuppa and get started Have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe dry and warm xx

Morning folks and thanks NMLC.

And greetings from a winter wonderland of snow! It was relentless yesterday and I have acquired 2 lodgers! School closed shortly after opening and all the kids sent home again. DD had been doing a night shift at the hospice so, as she would have been asleep, the girls came here!  She was doing another night shift last night so they are still here and I expect them here all day today as well.. DD has no chance of getting home again this morning so, as there are empty rooms at the hospice, the night shift are all now sleeping there and will see what state the roads are in when they all wake up! What a debacle, but fortunate that we live quite close and the girls can stay with me. Needless to say they are already eating me out of house and home and the hoarded freezer stocks will soon go down! 

We still have light snow but it's forecast to stop soon and from late morning we can expect sunshine! I don't think we quite reached the predicted 16 inches of snow here but judging by the height on the bird bath I think we must have had at least 12 inches. I wonder how long before we get the plough and gritter up here. They seem to concentrate on keeping the main roads open which isn't a big help if you can't get to them!

No Friday Tidy will get done today so that will be on hold until tomorrow. Any excuse! By tonight they may be able to get down home again.

Good morning, we have quite a bit of snow here.  Yesterday's disappeared quite quickly, but this lot came down through the night.

Thank you for the anniversary wishes, we had a nice lunch out, just locally.

Hope you'll be ok TA, it sounds bad where you are.  Sounds as if Nanny will need digging out as well.

Glad to see you're managing to keep posting Nelski.

Gers, hope you have a safe journey home if you're coming back today.

Bella, I've got no backside either, makes buying trousers difficult doesn't it.  If I buy trousers I like to have Dd or Dil with me, I don't trust Dh to judge things properly. I never had much of a backside, but a few years ago I lost a bit of weight because of a bad time in my life. My backside disappeared never to return.

On that happy note I'll leave you folks, the story of my disappearing a***..

Morning from a wet and soggy mehefinland

our snow came and went in 24 hrs but yesterday was torrential rain showers on and off all day. The field looked like one of those travel adverts for the far East with paddy fields. Was only missing a few conical hats!!  Fortunately it drains well and the paddy field looks a bit more normal today although there are still a few areas that look iffy.
The nags were not impressed but much preferred the wet to the snow.. it was quite funny watching them shovel it with their noses to reach the grass underneath. They had to work hard for the reward.

Gosh, as I type that big yellow thing in the sky has just poked its nose out. Hopefully it will stick around a bit.

Going to a surprise 70th birthday bash in a very big posh hotel tomorrow afternoon ( its where the Welsh rugby team have their hq). Expect I will need deep pockets, but it should be a good 'do'. Just a pig of a place to get to from where I live.

Morning all

Still no snow here 😩 just relentless rain and very cold, day off for me today but I have to take my car in for its mot this morning DD will follow in her car with the dogs and we will walk them along the beach while we are waiting hopefully it won’t take long.

This afternoon I am having my nails done which is always a treat and we always set the world to rights while she is doing them.

Bella have you thought of a tankini ? You can then choose separates and then get the correct size, you can get ones to cover mum tums, I got one a few years back and they help cover mine, I would second Lands end too they are always good quality.

OH is treating us to a takeaway tonight 😀 will see what we fancy later

Morning all, we had snow more or less all day yesterday but it was soft & didn't really stick apart from on the hills. During the night at 3 am, dear pooch woke me whimpering because the wind was howling. For such a big dog she really is a wimp I looked out but it hadn't done much but had at 7 when I got up it was sticking on the lawn at the front. I've swept the path clear in case it freezes.

Went to town yesterday to go on the market and change my library books. The bus going down was full- I think folks were getting out to do shopping while they could.

DH saw a van online yesterday but as it's in Yorkshire I don't think he'll be going for a look today

I made meatballs in tom/garlic sauce yesterday - then DH phoned to say he was going for a pizza at the Thursday pub, as 1 of his friends is going to their place in Spain next week for a long stay. Then DS said he wasn't keen on the tomato sauce , he cooked himself sausages instead.Now I have 2 containers full and hardly any room in the freezers ....I know, the age old problem us OSers face continually Will have a shuffle later

TA enjoy your visitors, I'm sure your freezer is full enough to cope

I want to dye my hair today- not happy with it atm, it's not long since it was cut, and I said I wanted the layers trimming, but there seems too much of a difference between the top and bottom layers and it looks straggly. It seems to have gone very thin these last couple of years as well

Lovely smattering of snow here but not enough to cause any chaos. Its enough to keep me inside though as a fall is certainly not on my wish list atm. My cleaner is due today so I can ask her to do a bin run 

Bacon and eggs last night went down well last night rummage in freezer needed for tonight

Bella another flat bum one here but I can trump you I have a flat chest too!! 

Gers drive safely lovely its rough out there
