Car Breakdown Cover, am i allowed to do this?

Morning,
I'm sorting my Mother's breakdown insurance, full cover required. She's been with the RAC for years and auto-renewed !!!! I don't live with her but also need to be covered for breakdown on her car.
Can I buy my own personal policy for her car (noticed that the big names, RAC, AA etc do personal cover rather than covering the car itself) as well as her having her own personal policy? (Sorry if it's an obvious question) as I get get a much cheaper policy but she wants to stay with the big names. Thanks.

Does she have vehicle cover rather than person cover? If so, the vehicle is covered for anyone driving it, though if it's autorenewed for a while you'll want to confirm that she's covering the correct car.

Funny thing with say the AA Family membership.
They offer 30%-50% off at times.
If 4 family members join with Quidco for eg and have full cover, no Europe cover.
Works out at around £30 a year each.
All they ask when you call is for your address and post code, and reg.
As long as the addresses is correct, ie your mums all is good.
I’m not saying doing this is ok but, it works.
