BA refund

We booked 2 flights to the US but were unable to fly when Trump closed the US borders as a result of Covid. We chose vouchers anticipating a speedy return to flights. Because of health reasons we now do not want to fly again and have request refunds. BA have replied that we are not entitled to refunds because the flight operated but obviously we couldn’t take it! Trying to get my refund for about a year now, any help please!

Have you checked that the flights did in fact operate rather than just take BA's word for it? I can't see any other avenue for you really.0

Travel insurance may have been a possible route if it covered you for the circumstances, but accepting the vouchers probably closed that route off for you.
See if you can sell the vouchers to someone else.0 -
A bit confused here.Alan_Mass said:We booked 2 flights to the US but were unable to fly when Trump closed the US borders as a result of Covid. So is this a case of 1st flight cancelled, you took voucher. Booked another flight but did not take that flight due to health reasons?
If so then you are looking at travel ins. If the flight went ahead.Life in the slow lane0 -
Are the ‘ two flights’ two tickets for one flight or two separate flights?0

No I read it as the first flight cancelled, they got vouchers but no longer want to travel due to health reasons.born_again said:

Maybe seeing if they are transferable and selling them to someone else might get most of the money back
I have no idea if transferring tickets is possible or not though.0
