    hey, thanks. That's not a bad idea if we get truly stuck. The issue is that whilst we don't want to borrow the full amount we potentially could on our combined incomes (once I actually stuck that proposed mortgage payment into my monthly budget calculator we realised straight away that it would not work, wouldn't leave money for other expenses plus also saving a pot for house repairs etc etc - also frankly we wouldn't need to spend as much as the potential borrowing availability to get a property that is suitable for us), on her income alone we wouldn't qualify for enough to get even a small place in our area.
