Eco+ Grant Scheme
Hello All
We moved into our house last year, and we have found out that it has very little insulation in it at all.
After speaking to a few companies about loft and cavity wall insulation, and the possible grants available, I have been doing the necessary research.
One of the companies that came to quote for work said that the Eco 4 scheme didn't happen, and they are still waiting to be told if and when Eco+ is starting.
So, my question is, after reading around, and seeing lots of different information, different starting dates and qualifying information, does anyone know if the Eco+ Scheme is due to start in April or not? I've read on this site that it is, but on many other sites it just says the summer, or gives other months.
If Eco+ definitely starts in April, then I'd wait a few weeks and apply.
Many thanks
Joe

Details for the ECO+ scheme should have been announced moths ago. Leaving it this late in the day just means it is going to end up another cluster[redacted] like the last scheme. The ECO4 scheme will only be open to a limited number of people (usually those claiming certain benefits), so don't hold your breath that it will be any help.Loft insulation is not hugely expensive, and if you are reasonably fit & active, not difficult to install - I'd suggest getting a few rolls from Wickes or B&Q when they have a 3 for 2 offer on and do the work yourself (assuming you own the property). Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
We have just had our ECO4 retrofit done. Any luck yet with yours?0

Hi Pec123 and Netexporter, thanks for the updates.
After more research it turned out that it wasnt called Eco+ where we lived, but there was a similar scheme where we were, at the time, so we applied. As part of the process, surveys were done on the house to see what could be done to make it more energy efficient, which was all well and good.
What we were less than happy about was that the survey said that modifications would have to be made to the house so it would pass modern day regs. That and a couple of other red flags regarding the contractors put us off using this option.
Anyway, don't let this put you off, everyone has different experiences, ours didn't work out this way, but such is life, good luck to you both.0
