Fast forward few weeks back only to discover that one arm stitches are coming out already! Disappointed as one would expect a min 5 yrs use for such a price.
Contacted support who said they do not a replacement and only option is to ship the jacket back ( label sent and valid for 10days) and once received I will receive full refund. ( whole process may take 2 weeks min)
The issue is it is the only winter jacket I have plus we are in the middle superbly cold temps. No spare change to buy a replacement straight away.
No offer of any compensation for inconvenience which I think is appalling
what are my rights?
Thank you

There is no requirement for any compensation to be offered as they are complying with the law.
Hopefully it will take less than 2 weeks to refund.
If you cannot afford to buy a new jacket while you wait for that refund then I don't think the £400 one was the right decision in the first place. Cahartt WIP is a fashion brand, its not like the main Carhartt workwear, I wouldn't expect to to last better than any other jacket.
A good North Face puffer jacket is under £200. You would have been better off getting a £200 and a £100 jacket in the first place.
You want to get this sorted within 6 months of purchase as fault is assumed to be present and full refund is due.
A willing offer of return and refund is much better than some situations we hear on here.
Probably not as good as the £400 one but winter jackets on eBay for around £25 and then have a look at the end of the season to see if you can pick up a new expensive jacket on sale
I've bought OH and me some fab coats from charity shops over the years, including a genuine Crombie (him) and a Lands End 'squall' coat that retails at £200.
