I have some shares that i want to sell. The final ex dividend date is 30th march and dividend payment date is 12th may. Am i correct in thinking if i sell them on 1st April i will still get the dividend payment ?

Close, you can sell them on the ex-dividend date i.e. the 30th and be eligible to receive the dividend.joebob said:I have some shares that i want to sell. Bear in mind though that on the ex-dividend date it's likely the share price will fall by a similar amount to the dividend being paid.1
