Occasionally I scrub lemon and baking soda on my wooden chopping boards before washing in the sink... I don't know if it's actually making them cleaner but I'm a big fan of the way the mixture fizzes and bubbles up.

Aren't we in danger of becoming 'too clean' and messing up our natural immunities.
Being nearer 70 than 60, in the school holidays we used to take jam sandwiches to the local stream.
Messed about in the water, played games (like rounders and cricket) and ate our sandwiches without washing our hands or using hand gel.
Did us no harm and I have no allergies.

My gran didn't even have a fridge, she had a marble shelf in the cellar.
No sell-by dates on food at that time.

Tim Dowling didn't seem that impressed with the suggestion.

But for goodness sake the worlds got barking mad I think, or I just have a built -in immunity to 'wooden spoon infections ' :):):)

You're spot on with this; or, "The Body Snatchers" was/is a true story. ;)
