I don't believe anyone I know has had a great experience with estate agents. With the heavy usage of websites like Zoopla and Rightmove, I'm not sure a brick and mortar estate agent provides any value. I know sellers can't list directly on Zoopla type websites but was wondering if there were any online estate agents that take a far more reasonable fee to list on those websites on your behalf. Doing a bit of googling has found https://www.sold.co.uk but not sure if they're any good.
I didn't use an estate agent and I paid £60 for an online agent. As long as you don't mind doing everything yourself then it's a no brainer. However if you get a complicated transaction its actually a lot of work and the buyers solicitor will not speak to you which makes it a little bit harder. You won't know which one you're going to get unfortunately until you get them.
I personally prefer speaking to the buyer myself rather than using an intermediary so for me it worked out perfectly.
Can't comment on that particular online agent but we used 99 home and there was no problem with them
