Suddenly this morning my AVG protection is stopping me accessing Vanguard UK.
Nothing like this on this site has ever happened before, why now? and what do I have to do please to rectify this problem.

Thanks for info, your recommendation please for best 'free' protection site?ballyblack said:get rid of AVG. its useless anyhow0 -
If you are using Windows then the inbuilt protection is as good as if not better than most. There is of course the possibility that the site will still be blocked, the usual reason for many of these legitimate sites being blocked is their failure to update their certificates, happens all the time.

Hi,Windows Defender, if you turn off AVG, Defender should kick in automatically.1

Is it possible you were connecting to a phishing site?
Recently some scammers have managed to get sponsored adverts to the top of Google search results for phishing sites above the real site - a recent one was a password manager site.
Always a good idea to use bookmarks for regular sites if you don't already, you can't always trust Google / other search engines as much as you think.
Hard to say though without an exact error message / screenshot from your problem, maybe AVG did stop you legitimately?

I was able to access the Vanguard site about 4 hours later, I have now un-unstalled AVG, Windows security has been turned on by myself now.
Thanks for all your response.

Thanks for all your response. Also download the free version of Malwarebytes and use that to regularly scan your system for malware (in some ways more of a problem than viruses these days).1 -
Worth mentioning (again) that the full-fat version of Malwarebytes is available free to anyone with any NatWest Group online account. They do a really rubbish job of publicising this.SiliconChip said:TUVOK said:I was able to access the Vanguard site about 4 hours later, I have now un-unstalled AVG, Windows security has been turned on by myself now.
