Hi, on your eBay page, click on 'help and contact'. Then scroll down until you get to 'postage and tracking'. Do go through eBay when you are sending anything though, as that way if anything goes wrong you will be covered by their 100% money back guarantee.

You should also be able to click through to the PackLink page and there's a lot of information on there about who to use and when and why. On that page it also says "With eBay Delivery you have access to shipping rates that are exclusive to eBay sellers".

I once sold an upright piano on eBay and said 'collection only' - not really expecting it to sell. But it did - someone travelling through my town from London to Newcastle said they wanted it and they would make a detour to fetch it. I felt quite honoured!

I wouldn't have been able to send it anywhere, though, obviously.

Hope that info is of some help.

    Hi OP

We've sold all of our sofas, tables, chairs, air heater, old freestanding gas cooker that was in the house, writing tables, 55 inh tv's etc, all as to be collected by the buyer - it may take a while but at the right price they will come and collect. Several items ie sofas, people cam to view, loved them as we look after them, came back with a man with a van and took away as agreed and no complaints. Another time, the buyer paid for a courier, 2 guts taking the writing desks away

If your pack will fit most hatchbacks, SUV's then even better as it will sell quicker so save yourself the hassel of posting

    Thanks

For finding couriers maybe have a look through a broker to see what companies you have as options.  But then go direct to the courier to check prices and T&Cs, because if anything happens and you've used a broker (I believe Packlink might be a third party?) the broker could well make it really difficult to claim and the courier won't deal with it.

@MalMonroe  I have no idea why you cut and pasted your usual bit about going through eBay, I can see no suggestion at all that OP is trying to sell ‘off eBay’ whilst still using their platform. I also wish you would consider some of your advice that is misleading and dangerous. EBay do NOT guarantee any of their services, you have no more cover using their sometimes appalling suggestions for pricing and postage . I know you never come back to read responses to your post, many have tried, but please remember let’s not deliberately mislead sellers into pretending there is eBay protection when there isn’t .

With larger items I always try local listings, such as Gumtree. Shpock, Facebook etc first to see if I can sell locally with the buyer collecting. If I do move to eBay, then I'd list it as collection only - just make sure to scan the collection code from the buyer upon collection, although I never trust couriers with larger and heavier items due to the way they throw things around.

My friends daughter worked for a popular courier just a few months ago and ended up leaving the job as she didn't like the way people threw and kicked parcels around - I'd hate to know what happens with the larger and heavier parcels.....
I don't mean to put put you off - just ensure you have adequate insurance cover etc.
