On the other hand tonight, I've paid £17.98pp for a return flight to Poland tonight including an admin fee.

It'll cost the airline £13 just for me to get on the plane at Luton.

Most people tend to swap once on a plane anyway, this is nothing new. For those with children this may not work but for most it's a perfect way to get around the 'seating fee'.

Such 'junk fees' don't take into account those of us who have enough stuff to make work at each end and just want to buy a very basic ticket.

Consumers hate the way the airline market has gone with low base fares and lots of added extras ("junk fees")

Consumers continue to book the cheapest tickets with the airlines that do low base fares and lots of added extras.

    Herein lies the problem.

I'm more than happy with the situation as it currently is but there are some that aren't. Yes, I miss the days where the standard hand luggage allowance was larger (it used to be 55x40x23 on Wizz, Ryan/Easy had similar) but it's reduced delays and still doesn't mean everyone needs an expensive ticket.

If travelling fully loaded, the likes of BA (whose route network is admittedly shameful) offer what is required for many passengers complaining about fees, often at a better price.

I've done 2 weeks on a backpack in winter with nothing at the other end (it really does mean thinking about what needs to be taken and what doesn't but there was a daily change of top/underwear and 2 pairs of trousers in the bag), so definitely it is possible.
