Trouble with Lebara

I'm a Lebara customer. Recently I've been getting a lot of nuisance
calls, I probably used my number in a scam website or something. Anyway,
I've been asking Lebara support for a new number, at first they said
get a new sim and they could sort it in two minutes. I did that but they
then said I couldn't have two numbers linked to my account. so I've
asked them to cancel my account, it's a one month contract type but they
aren't answering me. I tried getting my bank (Santander) to cancel the
monthly payment butthay are just as useless, I've even threatened to
change my bank. So, don't believe Lebara when they say you can cancel at
anytime.

I would suggest you order a free sim from another network and then pop it in your phone and text pac to 65075. Then go to your lebara account and choose "keep your number" and enter the pac code and the number of the free sim. Your number should be transferred in about 48 hours. You could start giving out your new number to people and leave the free sim in your phone until the number ports (the free sim will then say 'no network'). Then put your lebara sim back in the phone and you will have the new number within a few minutes.
Personally I would choose rwg. although they do use 2nd class post so it could take 3 or 4 days for the sim to arrive.

Then again if you are thinking of moving from lebara you can request a stac code by texting stac to 75075 then giving the stac and your existing number to a new provider. That basically means "dactivate my number because I have moved my custom". To be honest I have never used one myself.
However if you log in on lebara's website it is pretty easy to switch off autorenew (and autotopup) so they can't take any more payments.

What is your current plan? And how well does it suit your needs?
If you have another email address you could even get a new introductory offer from lebara with a new number.
Against that how much credit would you lose by closing your existing account and how far into your month are you?0 -
Link to transfer a number from another provider to your lebara sim;

In this case "temporary number" means the old number you don't want.

So option 1 is get a new number on your existing plan. Option 2 terminate your plan and find a new deal.
Which works out best for you?1 -
Thanks for the help.

Which lebara plan are you on? And do you have any credit?
The likelihood is you can sign up for a new deal at least as good, but you may need to use a different email address.
As long as you can access lebara online you can mothball your sim, or you can port your number out at any time without penalty which stops any future payments.
It is probably more difficult for lebara to give you a new number than it would be for a parent network, but you can bring a number from another network quite easily.
If I were you I would order a free sim and then pac the lebara number to it which closes the lebara account. then throw both sims away and start again. But if you are on a good deal and have credit pac from the free sim to lebara and carry on with lebara with a new number.
In any case grab a free sim.

Porting your number to a new provider won't help if the scammers have your number... its the number, not the provider that is important here.
Should be fairly easy to buy a new Lebara SIM and then add it to your online account though - there was an option to "add SIM" to my existing login when I logged in just now. Alternatively, just sign up for a new Lebara account with a different email address.
As for cancelling your existing contract, depending in your plan there should be options in your online account to turn off auto-renewal. Do this and then your contract just should end when the month is up.0 -

The OP asked lebara to change the number and they sent out a sim with a new number, but the monthly plan is still attached to the first sim, and that plan may not be currently available. How do you suggest the OP moves the plan onto the new sim?0
