I'm getting this
An error occurred while checking for updates: Update check failed to start (error code 3: 0x80080005 -- system level).Version 109.0.19817.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Update failed (Error 3 or 11): An error occurred while checking for updates: Update server not available. If the server isn't available perhaps it's not my end, but why is it asking for a reinstallation?
Would reinstalling Avast browser mean I lose the Bookmarks and most importantly passwords?
I've already saved the bookmarks in an HTML file, bit I'm not sure how to save the passwords so they can be easily reimported rather than typed out again.
I have them in a word file separate from my computer.

Get rid of everything Avast. Use the built in Windows security and a regular web browser of choice (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). If you have exported your book marks they van e imported into any other browser. You will have to manually import passwords when required.2

I think that might be wise, because I've found out that all the Chrome data such as bookmarks and passwords is saved in a corresponding Google account, so if we have to reinstall Chrome, it doesn't lose them.
I've just been moving some of my saved passwords directly from Avast secure into Microsoft Edge. Amazingly many are failing. Perhaps it's because it thinks I'm logged in already.
