Missing LPA activation key

I’m an attorney for my wife’s recently registered LPAs.
She received the stamped LPAs and activation keys (for both health and finance) ok, but I only received one notification / activation key (for health) as the attorney.
We contacted the OPG who believe the letter containing the activation key for the financial LPA has got lost in the post and said they would send another.
They didn’t seem to know whether this would cancel the missing key - and prevent that being used by someone to register the LPA. We’re obviously a little concerned about the security implications of there being a live code missing somewhere.
Does anyone have any experience of this or advice on any precautions to take?
Many thanks,

had this with a H and W LPA, neither activation letter ever arrived. Solution was to clear a morning and spend it hanging on the phone to the OPG, who gave the activation key over the phone. Then register it straight away, remember this needs a 'use LPA' account not a 'create LPA' account.the online account will also show you what is going on. That said I think it unlikely that there would be fraudulent use as organisations should ask for ID to prove that you are the attorney.0

Thanks Bunnygo,
Do you remember whether the code they gave you over the phone cancelled out the previous ones you didn’t receive as well?

I don't remember for sure, I'm afraid - it is just possible that they said that the previous code was cancelled but this was over two years ago so I wouldn't swear to it. If you can get through to the OPG they should be able to confirm. Sorry!
