Do you mean you want to import one track from another CD and add to an existing album (why would you want to do this? Just add the tracks you want to your library.).
Or set-up a new playlist with all the tracks of one album plus one extra from another?0 -
i had one track off another album i liked so i wanted to group it with the other album from the same artist
id planned to load mostly whole albums with any duff tracks removed0 -
To just import tracks you want check box them on the CD listing, or manually import each track, rather than the whole CD.
You can set all sorts of tags on the tracks, including changing album name, artist, whatever you fancy to group things together, although if you make a change, remember when you search! Double click the track, or right click to Get Info.
When you look at your library, you can sort by any category shown (and you can show more by adding columns), so it's easy to group by album name, or artist, automatically. Right click any column heading to get the list of al the columns so you can add and remove them.
You could also set-up a Smart Playlist which automatically adds anything by artist "xyz" so whenever new tracks are added to your library with that artist, they are linked automatically to that playlist. (Playlsits are just links to the original tracks, they aren't copies of the tracks).0 -
right i wasnt sure about the playlist thing
so i can say load all my albums and listen that way or make a playlist of tracks to suit certain moods or occaisions etc? and more playlists wont effect the capacity?0 -
Exactly, playlists don't affect the capacity at all, if you are a PC user thay are like shortcuts, if you are a Mac user they are like aliases.
You can have a song in 50 different playlists, but it'll only be stored on your computer, and your iPod once.0 -
great ...thanks for the help0
