BT false promises

We was cut off Friday, my mum rang up and was promised via phone call broadband and tv for £23.00 they put broadband on but not tv, 48h since had passed but no tv has been put on.
rang up today and been passed on and on, now they’re saying my mum was only told it was for broadband but can’t send us the recorded phonecall but now are offereing the same deal with a new box which costs £35 installation even tho it’s only free channels + broadband.
is there anything we can do? As I guess promises mean nothing

    This makes no sense.
If you have a fault, you should report the fault instead of for some reason you don't specify you've upgraded your account.

What was cut off and by whom?

If this is a new contract and you are within the cooling off period then you can cancel it if you want.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

  • Update on this, I stood my ground on what we was promised. Got freeview  tv + broadband for the price quoted although was fed through 3 departments.
    happy Sunday
  • Glad whatever it was that went wrong has now been sorted.

Not that I am any the wiser.

You don't need any contract with anyone to get Freeview, just a TV licence.
