LHA - If Adult and child rent a 1 bedroom, but are entitled to two bedrooms under the rate?

Hi, 

If we rent a 1 bedroom place, adult and 7 year old, would we still be entitled to the two bedroom LHA rate? Thats basically the question.
Or, if you rent a 1 bed place, but its adult and child, do you still get the 1 bed LHA rate?

Yes.

Lets say they rent a 1 bed that costs 800pcm.
1 bed LHA would entitle them to 700pcm
2 bed LHA would entitle them to 920 pcm.

What would they be entitled to living in 1 bed accomodation?

    £800 pcm.

    Lower of the applicable LHA or the actual rent.

You get the lower of the applicable LHA or the actual rent. The LHA sets a maximum threshold to what can be paid.
