Collapsible walking pole in hand luggage on Easyjet flights?

It hadn't occurred to me at all that a fully collapsible walking pole wouldn't be allowed in hand luggage until I came across a discussion on the subject in a travel forum. The discussion only referred to a US airline. The problem seemed to be that it had a pointed end but mine has a rubber fitting on the end. Has anyone…

I saw 2 turists that had to bin the walking sticks in Malpensa when Easyjet used to run Terminal 2. So Easyjet (or their security) do not allow to bring them on board as hand luggage.
