I have a Facebook group of information to the area. When looking for links to use some browsers display better than others, so float between chrome, brave, opera. Whichever one I use, if I find a fb page that will be useful, by touching top rt three dots on my android, a list normally shows "save to homescreen". Then it's there for whenever I need it. But that option to save to homescreen has gone. Googling shows I'm not alone. 

Also, I seem to remember touching a button and now have moved from Facebook classic view to basic. facebook.com and I don't like it but can't find a way to reverse the decision. Can anyone help please?

Same here on my Android phone

I can still have a shortcut to a webcam on my homescreen, but no longer allowed to have one for FB - have to load it from my bookmarks each time!

Wow, that's not only interesting, but a comfort to know its not me. I'll investigate the bookmarks route, we must monitor this in case either of us is able to revert to save to homepage. What browser do you use?

Two hours later, and I confirm on my android I have :-
mbasic.facebook.com
www.facebook.com
m.facebook.com
 
googling shows many others have similar or the same. The mbasic I want to remove but dont know how.
via settings on my android then apps, I see  Facebook is listed FOUR times. The first shows 793 MB, then 418 MB, then 360MB then 360MB again. Tempted to click and uninstall/delete, but daren't. Interestingly, the first Facbook icon in the list is much larger then the other three.

I use the chrome browser on my Android phone - maybe I should try another, any suggestions for a simple android based browser?
