Booking.com problems

Trying to book a couple of hotels in Italy with Booking.com.
Got to the point of paying and get a message to say that something went wrong. Tried 2 different credit cards so not a banking problem.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Rang my bank Halifax who said they have had a few calls saying that Booking.com are having problems processing payments.0

Quite rarely, especially if you have loyalty with the booking sites. The only time it's been cheaper overall was when we got free breakfast booking directly at an almost empty (but really nice) city centre hotel in 2021, that was cheaper than taking an apartment privately anyway.davelewis said:Try booking the hotels direct for a best price and availability.
There's generally a lot more choice too on Booking than looking direct, with booking.com being charged at a lower rate than Airbnb or similar for exactly the same property.💙💛 💔0
