You are obliged to inform your insurers of any incident.Stateofart said:I wouldn't have got my insurance involved. I would have taken it to the best bodyshop and got an estimate, then sent that to Morrisons.

Hi OP
Sorry to hear about that. Its awaful and especially when you just bought the car.
However, the positives. You did not get any trouble from the driver of the van or his company.
More so, my insurance allows me to take my machine to a garge of my choice as I piad extra for this insurance, does your insurance inc that. At times car ins may include the T&C that if you take the car to be rrpaired at a non approved repair outfit, you pay more in excess. So look up your policy and decide way forward.
Personally, if it was my car I'd take it t the main dealer that deals with these cars.
Good luck0 -
Even if they did replace the panel, it would only be with a pattern part.

Good luckUnless the main dealer have their own bodyshop on site, they will just take it to an unknown bodyshop- possibly the same one your insurer uses.If you know a good bodyshop, take it to them yourself, (and check they don't contract work out when they are busy).I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Depends if they have their own bodyshop. I know of one but is is an over a century old local company built up in the days when they did everything in house.photome said:
