Hi Guys
A few years ago we had a CCTV system installed at our house. It is working fine and I want to add another cam to the setup, but unfortunately, the installer has now stopped trading. I think I am capable of adding a new camera to the system myself but I just need to get some more of the cable and the end connectors. The current cable has the following printed on it. What are all these acronyms? Where can I buy a small roll of this cable?
Cat 5e FTP 4PR 24AWG PE ISO/IEC 11801 ANSI/TIA-560-C
A link to this cable on CPC or RS would be great if possible.
Thanks all.

Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable would both easily do the job for you - what length do you think you might need? Will the cable be indoors or outdoors?

When you type into Amazon it offers a squillion different types/brands etc at wildly differing prices. I think I may need about 30 metres from the front of my drive (External), up the back of my drain pipe (external) and into the loft.0

Hi,if you know your length you can buy a 'patch cable' with connections on ends, or buy extra cable, cut to size and fit connectors yourself.Various lengths HERE.0

Usually reels are cheaper in bulk lengths. You'll also need some tools to connect the network plugs onto each end - but this is relatively straightforward. You'll need a crimper like this:Some connectors (I prefer the pass through style that you push the cables through so they're sticking out, and then the crimper trims them off)And the stripper is useful for taking away the outer sheath of the cable:The cable should be 'outdoor' cable - not regular cable - such as this:You can buy ready made lengths as well - but if you anticipate ever adding another camera, or replacing a damaged cable, the tools are useful to have. For example there's a 35m ready made cable here - but if it's too short - it's a faff to extend it. And if it's too long - is there anywhere you can coil the excess?1
