When she contacted them yesterday to say the 28 days was up they told her that the claim has been rejected because they returned the laptop.
Who is 'they' who returned the laptop?0 -
If it was only yesterday that 'they' said it was being returned then in fairness you need to give them a few more days for it to be delivered.
It's not clear to me - is it being returned because it has been repaired and is now working OK, or because 'they' claim the damage is due to misuse by the buyer (such as operating it on a soft surface which blocked the ventilation holes}?0 -
And I guess we will never know. Another poster that deletes without good reason it would seem.3

So Amazon are saying they received the laptop and returned it to you? Have you asked the bank for the evidence of this? Was it repaired and then returned or?Roxy71 said:Just towards the end of las year my daughter purchased a laptop direct from Amazon (no third party) approx £1200. She bought it with the Barclay partner finance through Amazon. The laptop soon started overheating and Amazon agreed to a refund/return. They would not however provide a prepaid return, but did provide the address label for the return. My daughter returned it through Royal Mail Special Delivery and it was shown as delivered to Amazon quickly.
However, Amazon say they have not received it, even though proof of delivery has been provided. They kept giving a different date for my daughter to contact them again while they investigate and refuse to refund. This has been going on for months. She contact Barclay finance at the end of January and was advised to open a section 75 claim, which she did. Barclays finance said they would be back in touch once they had an update within 28 days. Whenever she contacted them within this period they have told her to wait the 28 days. When she contacted them yesterday to say the 28 days was up they told her that the claim has been rejected because they returned the laptop.
How should she proceed now? Is it time to go to the financial ombudsman and make a complaint about the section 75 being rejected? Are there any letter templates that would be good for her to use.
Thanks in advance3
