Filling hole after tree removal

I have a large hole inthe middle of a grass area left after the removal of an almost dead 70 year old fruit tree and its root ball. The hole is about 4ft by 3ft and 2 ft deep. What would be the best way to fill the hole. I don't have much soil I can move from elsewhere in the garden. The hole has loose soil in the bottom, would a good soaking help settle the soil before I start?
Any suggestions please?

Some stone, gravel but not to much then look around the area to see if there's any mounds of soil. There a couple I saw locally one private one public and eyed up bit I don't need any.
If it's lawn you don't need quality so ask the cost at builders merchants. Not steralised and cheaper than garden stuff.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Got a few tonnes here you are welcome to - You'll just need to bag it up yourself though (I can supply a bulk bag if needed).

Order a bulk bag of soil from a local supplier. The cheapest near me is a turf supplier rather than the DIY places. That should fill the hole pretty well and just leave it to settle. You could help by firming the soil with your feet as you fill it in.1
