NOW OPEN: the MSE Forum 'Ask An Expert' event. This time we'd like your questions on TRAVEL & HOLIDAY DEALS. Post by Wed and deals expert MSE Oli will answer as many as he can.
Morning all. I have a few UU's to report from the weekend:
Bayliss and Harding Wild Fig bubble bath - another from the advent calendar. Does the job.
Bayliss and Harding Jojoba, vanilla and almond body lotion - again, another mini from the advent calendar that does the job
Etude House Dr Ampules Sheet Mask - only one more of these left in the stash. These are more cellulose based so are thicker and therefore hold on to the essence more in the packet and then sit on your skin better than some of the cheaper masks. Do notice a difference when I use these too. Might have to ask my friend who's going to Seoul next month to pick some more up for me.
Clarins Double Serum sample - Have used a couple of these now and don't really notice a difference. Good for travel but that's about it.
Jordan Samuel Skin The Matinee Gel Cleanser sample - found this in my travel toiletries collection and thought I'd chuck it in my overnight bag. 1 sachet was enough for 2 uses which was good, but don't love it as much as the JSS Aftershow cleanser so will stick to that from now on.
Also finally made my first trip out to the Mac counter to do some Back to Mac swaps before they change the process at the end of the month, so swapped out a lot of empties for 4 lipsticks - Ruby Woo, Fanfare, Faux and I can't remember the name of the last one I got... I have enough empties for another 6 lipsticks so might have to make a couple more trips this weekend to pick up some more freebies. I did declutter a lot of my lip products earlier on this year so I think I can make use of these in the next couple of years.

@ruby_eskimo woah you got 4 new lippies from the Back to Mac thing? Am I allowed to say that's awesome!? How many items do you have to take back? Is it always lippies you get as the gifts?

Molten Brown shower gel. This was just fine. I personally think that MB is overhyped. I used it as bubble bath mostly. WNB.
Bare Minerals Golden Gate blush. I'm not a fan of loose powder blush as it's difficult to control on application. WNBA.
Urban Decay Angel highlighter from the Gwen Stefani palette. I love this highlighter however the new MAC one that I bought on the January sale is just as nice.
I have pulled out the recent No7 eyeshadow and face pallette to use the bronzer out of that and will switch to that highlightr also. I think the only other bronzer I have is the Bare Minerals pressed Warmth one which is too dark at the moment.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
2 INS. My new Shay & Blue fragrances have arrived. I might save these for weekend wear. Today, I'm wearing my M&S Discover White Coconut fragrance. Shout out to @dolly84 .

Why thank you. For every 6 empty mac products you get a free lipstick (so I took back 24 items...) but they're ending the freebies at the end of this month. They'll still take the empty products back for recycling after March but you just won't get the free stuff. If you went to a stand alone Mac store, you used to be able to get eyeshadows as well as lippies for free. I've still got another 24 empties at home to take so will try to do that on Saturday to get another 4 freebies.
And I've been hoarding empties for a few years, these aren't all of a sudden a flurry of products that I'm using up!

2 x Avon Watermint Shower Gel 500ml - I used to buy Body Shop Watermint shower gel years ago and then they discountinued it, I bought this hoping it would be as gorgeous - it smells pretty much how I remember the Body Shop one. They were only £1.75 each and are huge.
Out
5 more make up brushes sold.

@ruby_eskimo I heard a YouTuber say that she had been told by a MAC Consultant that they are bringing in a new incentive. She thought maybe this was due to public backlash.
Another UU Bare Minerals Cookie lip lacquer. Was a bubblegum Barbie pink colour that I would not repurchase.

UU Elizabeth arden ceramiide capsules. This was a mini pack. I found the serum absorbed very quickly and then made my skin feel dry WNBA.
I love those capsules! I noticed they are sold in Costco of all places! Two of the large pots for less than the price of one in a department store. Which raises the problem of buy them at less than glamourous Costco or the Bay and get a gwp?
I wouldn't be surprised @VALM because the counter I went to had a LOT of boxes of recycling and they were running out of certain shades of lipstick so probably a few people like me who'd been hoarding empties for a while!
Have another 2 UU to report:
L'Oreal Oil Infused Micellar Water - this is the yellow one, not the blue one. Best makeup remover I've found and I buy them from Lookfantastic as they do a pack of 2 for the price of 1.
Bayliss and Harding Jojoba and Vanilla body lotion - again another mini from the advent calendar. Have a few more to UU.

Bobbi Brown Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover mini - this was a deluxe sample that I've been using in my travel toiletries and it had one more use left so decided to just use it up. Was a bit too oily and fragranced for me so back to the Garnier (not L'oreal as I said yesterday)
Biossance Squalene and Marine Algae Eye Cream - another mini from a Christmas set. I really liked the sample I had last year, but this one seemed to irritate my eyes from time to time 🤔 Have gone for the Beauty of Joseon one now and first application this morning seemed very nice and smoothing.
Rituals Hydrating Gel Cream - and another mini gone. Was a nice "basic" moisturiser but think it's a bit too expensive for what it is. Back to the Versed for the moment.
Think there will be another little flurry of UU's before the end of the month but then it's probably going to slow down as I've been using up a lot of mini's and samples and now have mostly full sizes left 😆
