Is there any mechanism to get manufacturer to contribute to new car after numerous warranty issues?

So I'm in a bit of a potentially self made pickle.

I bought a Vauxhall Combo Life SE just over a year ago, remotely. It was 9 months old so when there were issues I agreed with the dealer to let Vauxhall deal with it which was fine. It was a DPF issue and the DPF was replaced. There were subsequent DPF issues so I've just taken them back to Vauxhall who've sorted them but the issue still seems to be recurring with it having been in for 3 different DPF failures over a few visits. It's back in now for an NO2 sensor failure which may still be DPF related.

So it's a pain for me given the nearer Vauxhall dealer is 30 minutes away, and it must have cost Vauxhall a fortune in repairs.

I'm now at the point where I'm not convinced the current repair will be the last one, so seriously considering changing cars - either to something else or an equivalent with a petrol/battery drivetrain.

In hindsight I should have (a) rejected the car and sent it back to the selling dealership, or at least (b) kept the selling dealership up to date with what's going on though to be fair all of the visits have been for the same basic fault. We really like the car though and the higher spec ones are pretty rare so endured a bit more than we should have.

So what are my options here to get a better deal than just trading it in and taking about a £5-6k hit on the value? I assume the selling dealer is no longer obligated to sort it and that I'd be trying to get Vauxhall to either buy the car from me outright or give me a figure closer to the expected retail value to change it for something else?

Given the rarity (i can see 1 diesel SE for sale currently that's 1 year and 10k miles newer) I'm struggling to get an idea of what it'd be worth on a forecourt in good running condition.

I've had problems with cars in the past and I've got the dealer to buy it back off me.  I threatened the Ombudsman, after rejecting the car.  There is a time limit, but they absolutely hate it when you reject it.

That's what I'd have done if it wasn't under manufacturers warranty, but now I don't think I've got a case to take it back to the supplying dealer. Nor can I really afford to be without the car / money for however long it takes to eventually get a decision.

Have you asked Vauxhall? Does not matter what we think it is for them to decide.

I plan to do so shortly, once the current fault has been identified. I'm just looking for any comeback to them refusing.
