Morning all, Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus 💐 ( Happy St David's Day ). It's raining so I expect all the little school children will have soggy welsh hats and the annual wander around the village may be called off 🙁 It's such a sight to see a crocodile of about 200 infant children in Welsh costumes, sadly the juniors do not participate, they're waaaay too grown up for that !
This morning Dad needs collecting from the garage as his car is in for an MOT and he'll come back here till it's ready. As he's here for lunch I will do faggots and peas in the slow cooker. Later we'll have to drop him back at the garage and then collect DGD from her after school dance class. Somehow she has booked herself in here for an overnight sleep as her school is closed tomorrow ( teacher strikes) and requested BBQ chicken pizza for tea. These DGC can wrap us round their fingers 😁
Right I'd better get dressed and take 2 valium 🤣
Take care all, hugs to the poorly ones and the MIA's.

Morning all,I was shocked to read the sad news about Candygirl. I remember her well, as she was a Northern lass too, and loved her dogs so much, like me. RIP Candygirl.RR good to hear news of Nelski, hope the hands improve once the weather gets a bit warmer.I didn't get on yesterday, busy morning & then I caught the bus to the market to get some veg from the chap I get my delivery from sometimes. No shortage there! , even tomatoes, cucumbers & peppers. We had a good catch up chat and he said some of the wholesale prices are high so he won't go above a certain price for things, it was caulis last week so he didn't get any, but he had some this week. Then I moved into the fish & meat section, got some gammon for tea, and sausages and steak burgers. My wally trolley was pretty heavy getting back on the bus. Realised when I got home that I'd forgotten to take my library books with me. I may pop down on the bus later and get some new ones, see how I feel in a bit.I've done a smaller order for tomorrow from O cado while I still have my free delivery pass.Hope DGD spots are easing dp1Hugs to all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Wet and windy here this morning. I need to go to Asda for some bits this morning so I'll pop into mam and dads for a cuppa on my way. DD will drop little one off after lunch as she's got a hair appointment - no doubt my first job will be to look at her spots!
Sad news about Candy girl
Nannywindow - it must be a lovely sight
Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
What a shock to hear about Candy girl. RIP
I'm typing this on my phone because I forgot to bring the laptop charger so it will be a short post.
Sweep is here and I'm about to go to Skipton.
Have a good day.10 -
Morning all...Opticians appintment cancelled and rebooked for next week due to sickness. My cousin has just texted to say she's got covid, but they do things differently in Italy, you're basically locked in your room until you're not positive anymore. In one way I'm glad, because that means she can't go running around after everyone and she can just do nothing for a change. So many people take advantage, notably her MIL, who's always asking her, who works full time, to take her here and there and fetch this and that instead of her son, who is retired and has all the time in the world. I've got to get the cat carrier out and spruce it up a bit, they've got appointments tomorrow and friday. But I have no plans today at all. Crochet, tidy, made lasagne last night so no cooking today. BM is closing down and reopening somewhere else so they had 25% off everything yesterday, I did wonder why the car park was so full, normally it's half empty. I got myself quite a few tins of tuna, some stock cubes, cat biscuits, that kind of thing. The stuff I would norally buy there anyway, just more of it.Camelot, you and me both with moss..TA, hugs. Izzy, when I said that, I meant, dwell on the positive of what you've already done and don't kick yourself for one trangression! I don't know anyone who can eat on a diet without the odd bit of lasping. nanny, Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus to you too...I remember having to wear one of those outfits..yuk. Rosy, I miss a market, useful things...I don't remember much about candygirl except her dogs, especially Zeus.Take doubly care of yourselves...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Contrary to my earlier pessimism the day has turned out to be beautiful again - just need some heat coming from the sun to make it perfect. I got a white washing done and actually out on the line, first time in months. The back garden is not too sunny in winter as it's walled and the sun is lower so it doesn't often heat up in there. Anyway, knickers gently wafting away. A wee wander round the garden was a delight, crocuses, a couple of daffodils and the rose tree greening up were all lovely to see. Not cutting the grass as it's sopping wet! Then I took myself off into town for my Radio Times then took a detour to see the still empty sea lock at the canal, see photo. Most of the work is done but there's still some to do before the scheduled re-opening for the season. When there I met a neighbour and his visitor, a couple of lovely old gentlemen, so had a lovely chat with them, then I moved onto talking to two strangers. They use the canal a lot, sailing their boat through the shortcut, so had come to see the work too. Despite my anti-social tendencies I really enjoy bursts of social interaction, especially when out in the sun.

Hello all, I've only just picked up my laptop again and was shocked to read the sad news about Candy girl. Rip lovely lady.
dp1 yes it is a sight especially with all the families and locals lining the streets too with almost everyone waving flags. The Friends of the school assoc usually have to stop the traffic and most people are happy to stop but there are always some that can't wait and the crocodile is halted and then it takes even longer to go in a loop and back to school. DGD wore her Welsh rugby top as she feels she's far too old to wear a dress and hat, she's more of a tomboy anyway.
Thanks taff. You must have looked so cute 🤩 I can't remember wearing one, but then it was rather a long time ago 🤣
Gers hope you got your underwear dry 😁

@TravellingAbuela - I don't know if you can get it in large containers, but here I just pour vinegar over the weeds to kill them off. It takes a couple of days to start working. You want to make sure it is on the weeds and not something you want to keep, but it does work to kill things off. Have to repeat it every few months though as things grow back - literally like weeds!10
