Some threads do benefit from input even after months of inactivity.
But not all.
Necroposting is seen as a negative action on most public forums as it just encourages posters to waste their time offering advice on something that is all sorted. 🙂
As I said, necroposting on some threads can still provide helpful advice.
From Googling:Why do people hate Necro posts?Because it “bumps” the topic up to the first page, taking up space. Yes - that's one of the reasons why necroposting is frowned upon. Basically, if a thread is old and its topic of discussion has been resolved (e.g. the question has been answered), then there's really no point for anyone to post on it anymore1 -
